Question

I have a vintage 1972 flame master furnace that does not have a manual switch to turn on the fan. I would like to put in a newer thermostat with a switch to control the fan. There currently is 2 wires from the furnace to the thermostat and the newer thermostat requires three. where on the furnace would I connect the third wire to ,to allow me seperate control of the fan.

Answer

Hi, u are going to need a seperate relay and a new wire from the furnace to tstat. this is not something easy to do . this not something u should even try without expereince. but check on the furnace and see if there is a fan switch that will keep the fan on. also check the high limit switch in the furnace it looks like a dial, that might have a button on it u can push or pull for fan operations.happy new year
