Question

I have a 2004 Suzuki XL-7. I was putting air in the tires with a 12 volt dc compressor. After about 5 minutes, the cigar outlet stopped, I plugged into the other 2 outlets, but the stopped after 5 minutes. I checked the fuse under the drivers side dash, and replaced it. The outlets still do not work. What do I need to do?

I plugged the air compressor into all of the 12 volt outlets and all of them went out as I used them. They have not worked since.

Answer

Get out your test light. Do you have power at the fuse? Through the fuse? Keep going until you don't have power.

i beleive what has happened is you shorted out one of the sockets which caused the other circuits to be shorted out since they are all wired in series to each other

After the first socket stopped working, I went to the 2nd one and it worked for 5 minutes or so, then it stopped, then I went to the last socked. It worked for a while then it stopped. If they are wired in series, and if they were shorted, wouldn't they all stop working at the same time?

ushould have a manual for your car that tells u which relay is which or it should be listed on the fuse box cover ok

Reply

The manual that came with the car only explains the the fuse panel under the dash ant the one in the engine compartment. It says nothing about relays.
