Question
Hello. I'm dealing with a situation with a company that I worked for as a independant contractor. They paid by strictly commission only meaning if I didn't work 40 hrs a week what leads I made I would lose and the hours as well. They told me when I had to work, when to take break and when I could go to lunch. They fired me about 3 wks ago and I have not received any pay for the month that I worked. What can or what do I need to do? I reported them to the Labor Dept. Is it possible that I may have a lawsuit against this company?

I have filed a complaint with the Labor Department. The are investigating the company. Now I'm just looking to get an attorney to see if I have a case against the company.
Answer
The labor department is likely to direct you to sue. You should calculate what you are due and then on your own or through a lawyer send a demand letter followed by lawsuit seeking the balance plus court costs.
