My machine (kenmore-top loader)won't shift to spin cycle... it just makes a noise. I've taken the back off but there is only one belt and I can't tell where it connects.

Hi . From the model # Its a direct drive washer With no belt. THe part that drives the tranny Is the motor coupling This Is the part that needs to be replaced

Once the coupling is replaced - will it work "like new?" How long will this repair last if we have a professional do it? (machine was bought in 2003).
