We have a AEG Electrolux Lavamat L14510vi washing machine and during use this morning it went off with a loud bang and tripped the RCB. When we reset it and turn the washing machine on with the on/off button it shows a light which mean it is getting supply but the control panel is showing nothing at all. I believe the fault is the control panel. Could you advise us that this is the case or something else.

Hi XXXXXX, Do you know where on the cycle your appliance was when the loud bang was heard? Thankyou from David.

Hi

It was at the end of a short wash cycle.

It is always worth checking the element and wires as often they can be the culprit. If your machine is powered up now then it is only at a certain point that it blows the fuse. This point could well be when power goes to the heating element shortly after filling up with water. It is a process of elimination when this occurs. You need to systematically unplug components until your appliance does not trip the fuse being very safety conscious with the electrical system. If not the element or burnt/damaged wiring try unplugging the main motor and see if this stops the tripping, then the pump and so on ensuring you plug the previous component back in each time.

To do this I think is needed of an expert to see what component is tripping the RCB. The machine can be turn on but no progamme can be selected, nothing showed up on the control panel window. I still think that something went on the PCB?

Yes I agree XXXXXX, It probably is the pcb. Sometimes they become a little damp depending upon their enviroment and bang. Still sometimes they can be repaired. Try and get a free estimate for your repair.Good Luck regards David.
