Hi XXXXXXXXXX.
Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer.
What make and model ?
If all other wiper functions are normal. When set to interval wipe, they pause at the bottom of the windshield between wipes. This problem is usually a broken or sticking wiper motor arm assembly (the arm that bolts onto the shaft of the wiper motor). It can be replaced separately, Ford part# is E7AZ-17A436-A.
No, that is not the issue. The issue is when I turn the wipers completely off. They do not return to the bottom of the windshield. They come back up to the top (or towards the drivers side).
Thank you for asking your question on JustAnswer. Then I would suspect a bad park switch and that is built into the wiper motor.
At the wiper motor, check the Dark Green (DG) wire for full battery voltage from fuse #16 30A in the interior fuse panel. Be sure the wire maintains battery voltage when trying to operate the wipers on the interval speeds. If the voltage is low, verify the fuse shows battery voltage. If the fuse is OK, locate and repair the high resistance in the circuit between the interior fuse panel and wiper motor. If the DG wire does maintain battery voltage, back probe the Black/Pink (BK/PK) wire and check the voltage there when operating the wipers on any of the interval speeds. The BK/PK wire should also show full battery voltage any time the wipers are up on the windshield. If the voltage on the BK/PK wire is low, check for any poor terminal connections or problems with the wires in the wiper motor connector. If the wires and connections are OK, suspect a faulty park switch in the wiper motor.
