Question

Last night, when coming in from the yard, I smelled smoke/fire. Nothing in the house was burning, but the smell came from my white german shepherd, Diamond's nose. Her nose fur was darker in color. She didn't cry outside or bark like she had been burned. Is this an allergy or a condition that I need to get her medication for or can I just bathe her with pet shampoo to remove the smell?

Accepted Answer

I would suggest that you bathe her to get rid of the smell and then keep a close eye on her. You might want to try a vinegar wash (50/50 vingegar to water) to help with the smell. It sounds like she was burned by something. (!)
