Question

A single story office building has three roof top Trane air handling units. Two of the roof top units are Trane voyagers. The people in the office building have reported that a 'sweet' odor, sometimes characterized as smelling like 'maple syrup' and at other times smelling like 'a car's radiator that has overheated' is coming out of the supply air diffusers. The two main air handers provide ventilation to the left and right halves of the building. Occupants in the building report that the odor appears to be mainly affecting the left half of the building. HVAC technicians have inspected the roof top air handlers and reported that nothing appears to be leaking inside the units. Do you know what could be causing these reported odors? Please advise ASAP.
