Hi there!
Please post the details :)
Thanks,
Scott
i've created the equation i'm trying to solve with the Word Equation Editor but can't paste it. Can i email it to you?
Please upload the file with http://www.mediafire.com and post the sharing link here.
Thanks,Scott
Ok, I got it... what are you trying to do to that equation?
Hi there! I'm in the process of solving it. When I post an answer, there will be an option to leave a bonus, if you choose :)
Here is my solution... it is *very* complex, so please let me know what you think.
I apologize in advance if there are any typos, but the idea behind each of the steps is correct.
Let me know if you have any questions about the steps...

this looks great! i had put everything that wasn't associated with x-squared or x on the other side of the quadratic equation and then set the x-squared and x terms equal to zero and tried to solve them. It's been a while (grad 1984 and sales since)!! ;-)
Can i throw out one of the solutions given that "h" will never be negative?
It's tough to say which of the "h" solutions will be negative. In fact, it's possible that both solutions will be positive :)
Let me know if you have any other questions,
