You'll need to turn the "Bluetooth-PDA-Sync" feature off. Looks like when you connect your Blackberry using Bluetooth it enables that feature.

Open Bluetooth Preferences...
Select your Smartphone, then Click Advanced...
Under "Serial ports that devices use to connect to this computer:"
Uncheck the box under the "On" column for "Bluetooth-PDA-Sync"
Click OK and the try running "PocketMac for BlackBerry" again....

How does that work for you?

Hi Thomas Z. I was able to turn the feature off, and I turned it off for all of my bluetooth devices..but the pocketmac application would still not run.. It said application not responding, but a spinning color wheel ran for a long while, then an error code #1712 popped up: operation can not be completed. if I don't hear back from you, I will uninstall and reinstall again, unchecking the On column for Bluetooth, pda sync.
thanks

the application seems to have launched properly after the reinstall and switching pda sync off.

Thank you.

Hi. the contacts program still fails. first I deleted plists as you suggested, then did a sync without touching the contacts settings. sync did not function properly. then I clicked the radio box to sync with Ical and the program "quit unexpectedly" again.

Answer

Have you tried reinstalling again?

Delete all the preferences first then reinstall.

yes, and I finally was emailed back by blackberry tech support who added an additional item to delete, which also did not work. they had me delete what you said plus:

Open the Library folder, and then open the Application Support folder.
Delete the PocketMac and PocketMacSyncManager folders.

Pocket Mac 4.1.25 should remove the driver files, but to verify that they are, complete the following steps:

11. Remove the USB driver files by going to HD > System > Library > Extensions.
12. Delete BlackBerryUSB.kext and BlackBerryUSBDev.kext
13. Empty the Trash from the Dock by right-clicking and selecting Empty Trash.
14. Restart the Macintosh computer.

ran it and contacts still quits.
