What whould cause my dog to first vomit yellow, and then make it vomit red?

Hello
The yellow colour is the gastric secretions...stomach acid and mucus. When dogs vomit this it means the stomach is empty of food. If the colour turns red then it most likley means there has been either a break in a stomach lining blood vessel or there is a severe inflammation of the stomach, possibly an ulcer.
These signs are an indication of a serious problem that requires veterinary attention. You should take your dog to a vet as soon as possible. In the meantime withold food but allow him/her to drink water.
