Ativan is an anti-anxiety medication which needs to be taken under the supervision of a doctor due to its addictive qualities. It is used for panic attacks and for some people it does help with sleep. That is the good news. The bad news is that doctors are not allowed to give out samples of anti-anxiety medications because they are restricted substances.

As for your question about getting the prescription online, I suppose you could do that, but you will still need to get a doctor to write the script for you. Samples are out of the question, as I previously stated.

Some people get good results taking an anti-depressant which also works with anxiety, such as Sertraline (Zoloft) and it comes in a generic. You could also try Fluoxetine (Prozac) or Venlafaxine (Effexor). You could also take Trazedone for sleep.
