I have a b20b motor with p8r heads in my 97 lx. . . i keep gettin a code 41 which is the o2 sensor, i replaced the sensor in front of the cat with an OEM replacement, and still gettin a check engine light. i was under the impression that the sensor behind the cat wouldn't affect the PCM or ECU, secondly i cant even locate the second sensor is it in the cat?

Hi, I can help. The 41 , or p0141 is a problem with the secondary o2 sensor heater circuit.
The primary sensor in right in the exhaust manifold originally and the secondary is screwed into the cat.
If you dont have a secondary sensor installed thats the problem.
It also monitors the catalytic convertor operation so it will eventually set a p0420 code too.

Yes its visible in the cat. from the outside.
The sensors have a heater buit in and they burn out all the time.
Its usually not anything else.

well john g thank you very much i think i found my problem, i lack a secondary o2 sensor : ) . . . what is the process of installing one and how much does something like that cost?

It just needs to be screwed in and plug in the wire connector.
Retail on a new Honda sensor is 264 and change
