The endocrinology clinic will also have first the detailed symptoms, history taking (which would include, present history, past history, family history, personal habits, allergy history, etc), general examination which would include the vital parameters, systemic examination of the cardiovascular system and neurological system in particular (apart form gastrointestinal, lung/respiratory, spine) with local examination of the thyroid gland, if it is palpable.
Your previous investigations like thyroid functions tests and thyroid scan would be reviewed.
If needed newer investigations would be ordered.
As a matter of fact it would not differ very much with another specialist appointment except that thyroid, central nervous system, and cardiovascular system would be specifically concentrated for the examination with other endocrine glands like testes, adrenal etc which are amenable to the physical examination.
