At I-95 Toyota in Brunswick, GA I work there we make 65.00 dollars a day and work ten hours a day is that legal with all the new Labor laws with it no longer being 5dollars an hour any more?

Answer

The minimum wage in GA was raised to $6.55/hour on July 24th of this year. So, your employer would fall short by .05 per hour.

Now, also keep in mind that any time worked over 40 hours per week has to be paid at time and a half. So, if you worked 10 hours per day for five days per week, the formula would be:

5 days x 10 hours = 50 hrs/week

40 hrs at 6.55 = $262

10 hrs at $9.83 = $98.83

You should be receiving a check of $360.83   (for a 50 hr week).

If your employer is not paying those amounts, plus overtime, if applicable, you can file a complaint at your state wage and hour office, (unemployment office)

You employer could be liable for ywo years back wages.
