Question

Hi, My dogs front paw has some blood underneath. I thought maybe he stepped on some glass. But, looking at it, it's not a cut. It looks like collie flower but it is his skin. It is small, when I went to pull something out with tweasers, it looked like white growths under there. Not sure what it is..

Optional Information

Age: 1; Male; Breed: Boader Collie

Already Tried:
Just put a bootie on his paw so he wont lick it.

It almost looks like a growth. I don't know if his skin split or he stepped on something.

Accepted Answer

Hello,
I am sorry to hear about your dog's foot. Due to your dog's age, it is possibly a viral papilloma. A wart. They occur especially in puppies, and can spontaneously resolve. However, due to its location, it could still become a problem for your pet. In addition, it could still represent a different type of growth that needs to be examined. If it is bleeding, it is also predisposed to getting infected. A veterinary examination will be able to quickly determine if further treatment is necessary.
