I've done the regression analysis in Megastat, but I don't know how to interpret the results.

Answer

How many variables/columns do you have? If you have 2 then it's single regression, more than 2 then it's multiple regression.

3 columns, days, bills and type. there are 96 observations.

Answer

If you wanna predict one variable from the two other, then it's multiple regression.

I think I got it (never done this before so please bear with me).

Analysis data starts on row 48, I was playing around with the data.

Thank you very much

Answer

It seems that you want to predict DAYS from BILL and TYPE.

You have that DAYS = 70.68 - 0.013BILL - 37.40TYPE

and all p-values are very small, so the coefficients are all significant..

Is that a better model than predicting amount of BILL from TYPE and DAYS?

Does this tell me how late a bill will be?

Does amount of bill related to number of days payment is late?

I just don't understand how to read these. Can you suggest a site that helps explain how to interpret the outputs?

Posted by Sk1llz 344 days and 8 hours ago.

Answer

The first one is significant (Days from bill and type) while the second is insignficant (BILL from TYPE and DAYS).

You need to look at the p-values in the ANOVA-table.

That's the problem, I have looked at the p-values, but they are greek to me. Cry

Is there anything you can suggest that helps me translate the numbers into words?

Accepted Answer

When the p-values are small (less than 0.05 in general) they are considered as signficant.

Sincerely,
Sk1lllz
