Welcome to Just Answer.

You should never bypass a saftey switch on any appliance.
You should contact his supervisor, get a full refund and go somewhere else.

You need to check the heat exchanger for any cracks, and obstructions.
You need to see if the flame changes when the blower comes on.
You need to check gas pressure against the tag on the unit.
You need to see if the combustion blower wheel has soot on it.
You need to see if the heat exchanger has a coating of soot in it.
