Hi XXXXXXXX, I can't find any recalls or special coverages for an unmetered air problem. What problems are you haiving with your car?

The car went through two after market mass airflow sensors until an oem sensor was installed. After this the trouble code indicated an unmetered air flow. The mechanic said most likely from the intake manifold gasket for which he said the 3.8l engine is known for.

Accepted Answer

Okay, that makes more sense. There is a bulletin for a coolant leak from the intake manifold gasket and it mentions checking for any air leaks. But since it is a bulletin and not a recall, the dealer is not obligated to cover the repairs under warranty. If you have been a regular customer of the local Pontiac dealer you might ask them if they would cover part of the cost of repairs. Sometimes they make exceptions.
