Info Request

I would like to help you with your question, but first I need a bit more information.

How much does your dog weigh?

How much of the rat bait did she eat?

Do you know what kind of bait it was (what brand)?

Do you have hydrogen peroxide in the house?

7 lbs, may be 2-3 pellets and chewed on a block, just a little. the poison is (d-con mouse prufe II) yes i have peroxide. the dog is quiet and has a sad look

Answer

That is not a lot of the rat bait, but she is a small dog. To be on the safe side I would recommend trying to make her vomit.   Give her 1/4 to 1/2 TBSP of hydrogen peroxide by mouth. She should vomit within 10 minutes.

Let me know when she does vomit.

Answer

Well that is great! Hydrogen peroxide does not always work to induce vomiting.

The dose that he was exposed to was quite small so I would not expect to see any side effects from the very small amount that may have been absorbed before you made him vomit. If he were to have any problems they would usually show up as abnormal bruising or bleeding. So continue to monitor him for bruises around his body and on his gums over the next 10 days or so. Also watch his urine and stools for evidence of blood.
