I have a 525i 95' with a high idle. 3000 RPM that will go up too 4000. when I turn the car off it will not start . untill the next day. when the problem first started I could tap on the manifold ligthly and the idle would go back to normal. not that don't work any more. please help.

The dealer try but could not find the problem. they replaced the throttle body pistion senser.

Hi normally this should set a fault code even if the ck engine light is not on. There should be one stored. It could be a couple of things you may have a huge vacum leak. Could be the mass airflow sensor. could be the throttle body assy or the throttle postion sensor sitting right on top of the throttle body. It gets exspensive to guess on these parts. Try to disconnect the mass air flow sensor after it is started see if it changes anything. But that should set engine light if it is not already on. Thanks mike

No lights on I did get a fult code of 49 and 42 throttle postion sensor was just replaced.

Hi fault code 42 is with the steering no need to wory about that fault. But worse news is the fault 49 is a dme internal test. It looks like your dme has failed. Mike
