Sorry about that, the info request is a template. I see the information, but I don't see a question. Could you please clarify?

Price seems too good to be true. They have a couple at this price. Clean car and clean carfax & title. I can only imagine it has to do with the milage(114000). I just wondered what to look for in these cars. In general, is there any failure history inheirent with this year car. I read about the coil. Anything else ($1500 service due, electrical , cooling system, etc...) I need to be wary of.

2003 525iA (what the A stand for? All wheel drive?)

Automatic

Inline 6 / 185HP in believe

Answer

Thank you for taking the time to type that out. The A stands for automatic. There were not any all wheel drive 5-series of this body style here in the states.

Hmm, the price may be on the low side, but I doubt it's too-good-to-be-true low. I would absolutely have the car inspected by a BMW specialist. I recommend that to everyone who ever consults me about buying a car, but especially a BMW, and especially at this mileage. If you take it to a dealership, they should only charge you one hour of labor, and they'll know exactly what to look for. They will also tell you if there are any open recalls on the car (the issue with the coils was a recall), how much brake pad material is left, etc.

If the car has been well maintained, I wouldn't give the mileage a second thought. My boyfriend has a 2000 528i station wagon with 279,000 miles and it's still running perfectly.

I can give you a short list of the things you can expect to see on this particular car with this mileage. It obviously isn't everything, but these are some of the most common items:

-Leaking valve cover gaskets and oil filter housings
-Leaking power steering lines
-Brittle plastic cooling system components and seeping from the area around the electrical connector on the thermostat
-Cracked belts and noisy tensioner pulleys
-Worn thrust rod bushings
-Torn intake boots
-Failed fan speed resistors
-Failed DSC control units

I'm sure that isn't everything, but honestly, these cars are very solid and reliable. When things go wrong, it's almost always something predictable and easy (though not necessarily inexpensive) to fix. Definitely have the car inspected and use any defects as leverage to get the price down further if you can. Let me know if you have any other questions.
