Question
My ex-wife and I signed our parental rights to our daughter over to my ex-wife's mother when my daughter was two years old. At the time my ex and I had been seperated for several months, and I had been paying child support to her all the while. She was unemployed, and it was a voluntary agreement for me to pay child support. When we signed our daughter's rights over to my ex-wife's mother, I thought I would do the civil thing and agree to continue paying child support to my daughter's new custodian. Today I am under-employed and behind on my child support. My daughter's biological mother has no financial obligation to our daughter, and my daughter's custodian makes double my earnings. I can't pull the money that I'm behind out of thin air and will definately end up in jail. I can't afford an attorney, and my daughter's custodian is a paralegal for the county's prosecuting attorney.
