Question

I have just acquired two siblings, breed unknown, but not dwarfs. Will I need two separate cages for them? They are between two and three weeks old, same sex (both female).

Hi,

Two females from the same litter should be separated before they reach maturity, as they most likely WILL fight. It's the Syrian (Teddy Bear) hamsters that can never be housed together. Two separate cages, but within view of each other, is your best course of action.

Here is a website with good hamster info:

I hope you enjoy your two new hammies!
