Question

2005 Volvo V50 T5 AWD - I'm looking at purchasing a used V50 AWD with 60,000 miles on it. I believe it has the original front struts; how often do they need replacing and what would be the cost for having it done?

Hi there. A good rule of thumb is to push down on the four corners of the vehicle and let it come up to rest, if the vehicle bounces then the struts or shocks are worn and need to be replaced.

If the vehicle feels stable, no excessive bounce or roll, then the struts are ok.
