Optional Information

Vienna, Virginia

Already Tried:
I have called the moving company innnumerable number of times, wrote to them, hired an attorney in Virginia and had him send a legal notice to respond but the moving company did not pay anyattention.

Accepted Answer

Stealing is a crime, so you can press charges against the movers and/or of the company for the items stolen. The police would have to investigate further to arrest those involved in the criminal act.

Since the company has failed to cooperate with your demand letter, your next step would be to sue the company and the movers who transported your items, to seek reimbursement of what was taken.

Once you file your suit, the company would most definitely respond or else a judgment can be entered by default if they continue to ignore the suit.

I want to file a law suit against the moving company, but the fine print in the moving contract says that if I were to file a law suit I would have to do it in Broward County ,Florida .The problem is I live in Virginia and is very difficult for me to file a suit in Florida. The moving company just dleivered the empty TV box with no TV inside (TV Cost -$3300),Bose Sytem totally missing,Computer misssing, bed frame missing ,two boxes of my Persnal Stuff and Documents missing,DVD Player missing. My estimated lossi s over 10000 dollars. Please let me know if you can help me file a suit in Florida.I have purchase documents and proof of ownership for all items. Please paas any telephone so we can discuss.

Answer

Just Answer is not a law firm, so we cannot file this lawsuit for you, we are only a question and answer site. What you will have to do is contact a Florida lawyer from Broward County and file this for you. You will still need to make the court appearance, but will not have to travel back and forth to get this paperwork processed.

You can access a list of attorneys for that area here.
