Question

I shelled the rear end out of a 95 GMC pickup. I know it has 3:42 gear ratio. It has a 10 hole gear pattern. I found this gear pattern out of a 1978 car and was wondering if i would have complications installing it.

Answer

what are you trying to replace, the internals or whole axle?

95 10bolt pickups have a 8.5" ring gear. if the car is 8.5, the internals should be compatable. alot of 10 bolts in cars are 7.5" like camaros and even s10s and such, in which cause it would not, you need to pull the cover off and measure.
