Question

Dear Dr./Nurse--my Son recently was in volved in a R.T.A. Apart from other physical damages-he received a bad head injury and was told-(within the first few hours/days-he has a clot on the brain-the size of a pea and a 'pocket of air'.Neither he nor I-thought to ask the Consultant if this had/would disperse it'self? Do clots like these disperse themselves? What of the 'pocket of air'? Thank you--Chris Latham.

Hello,
it looks that your son had some mild extradural bleed which eventually stopped itself. The ultimate size of bleed & hematoma /clot looks to be less then 20-30ml.This ultimately is very less to cause & this & air will resorb itself.I think you need not to worry about this.
I think your son is in good health soon.
Regards.
