Question

I own a 04 150 FX4 with 70,000 Kms on it. Today while I was having the engine oil changed, the technician informed me that the transmission showed no indication of fluid on the dipstick and that it was because the seal was proberly gone and the fluid was leaking into the transfer case. I added a quart of trans fluid today and I guess I will waint and see it I continue to lose trans fluid. Is it possible for the trans fluid to leak into the Transfer case because of a bad seal?

Answer

hi there

yes it is possible for the tranny to leak into transfer case from a bad seal --- have the tech check the level in transfer case because if it is leaking into transfer case it will be way over full --- transfer case only holds 2.5 to 3 qt of fluid ---let me know if this help you out ----
