I think it likely that your doctor told you that you had a "Vaso Vagal" reaction. This is a nerve 'feedback' that often occurs when people are having a bowel movement. It causes dizziness or fainting.

I do not think she was trying to say it was causing your diarrhea. The diarrhea is a separate condition as a vaso vagal reaction is merely a symptom or event, not a disease process. (such as hitting your funny bone is an event, not a disease).

The suggestions she gave you are to help with diarrhea and dehydration. You are doing the right thing for now.
