I picked up a bottle of water to take a drink in my living room which was dark, apparently someone had put a cigarette butt out in it which i did not see i took about three big gulps before realizing will this hurt me?

No, this will not cause any significant harm. Neither tobacco nor the material in the cigarettes will have enough of a concentration in the small amount you ingested to cause any damage. It may make you a little nauseated, though.

To be clear, cigarette ingestion is dangerous when taken in large amounts, so I am not saying it is ok to eat tobacco. In fact , it can cause severe poisoning in small children. But you in effect took very little into your system and it should not cause any trouble at all.
