Question

I have an HP Desk Jet 6122 printer. It is plugged in to the wall, there is 120 volts to the cord where it plugs into the unit. The power light will not go on. does this thing have a rest button anywhere, or what should I be looking at

Hello. It is unfortunate, but modern printers are designed to be "throw away" when they break, and you may be faced with that situation. A few things to check: make sure the connections at both ends (wall outlet and printer) are tight. Make sure the cover is closed properly, since there is a power interlock built in. If this is a printer model with a separate power supply (i.e., the cord from the wall goes to a separate PS box, then another cord goes to the printer) then make sure the PS connection is also tight. If it still doesn't work, it is most likely a faulty power supply. If you have the separate type, it MAY be possible to buy a new one. Otherwise, you are probably looking at replacing the printer. Sorry that I can't give you better news.
