Question

About six months ago I noticed random slight tingeling in my pinkies, it would come and go. Since then it has progressed into more constant tingeling in my hands and then it went to my middle back and now it is doing it on my left jaw line. It's not all the time in all the places, but it is defiently getting more constant and showing up in new places. Any suggestions??

Is one arm worse than another?

Are you having pain / cramping at all?

And what fingers are affected now specifically? And what part of the arms?

both arms are about the same, maybe a little worse in my left, but I use my left more. Today its a slight tingleing from my elbows down to my pinkies and into my middle fingers on both arms and my left jaw line is tingleing also. I am very senistive to pressure, if a sit a certain way my legs tingle but then goes right away, when i carry my son in his infant car seat my arm gets really tingley. As far as pain, not really any just more annoying at this point

OK.

The tingling that seems to travel down from the neck into the arm and fingers is characteristic of a “pinched” nerve in the neck. This can also come from compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow (but the fact both your arms are tingling at the same time seems to make me think it is more likely the neck).

This “pinched” nerve can come from things like a herniated disc, where pressure on the nerve causes an intense shooting pain, or numbness, or tingling, or cramping, or a combination of those symptoms.

Almost all the time (over 90% of the time), this subsides and resolves over a few weeks, as the nerve irritation improves. However, in some of these cases, it does not improve, and then would require a MRI of the cervical spine for further evaluation. As your tingling appears to be getting worse, it would seem to make sense for you to have this investigated by your doctor.

As for the new tingling in the jawline - this area is unrelated to the neck, and is usually a distribution of one of the cranial nerves (the third division of the fifth cranial nerve). One would always want to make sure this jaw tingling is not cardiac (heart) related as well, since heart troubles could sometimes show up as jaw pain first.
