What is wrong when the car doesnt start?

My name is Vladimir.
There are two conceptions about a sentence "car does not start"
1) It could be that an engine cranks(is turned over by a starter motor), but doesn't start.
2) It could be that an engine doesn't crank( turn oover) at all.
In the case #1, it can happen for many reasons, such : an ignition system (No spark), fuel system( no fuel pressure), anti-theft system, engine mechanical problem, electronic engine control system.
In the case #2, it could be a bad starter, battery, control circuits and wiring.
