The check engine light is on. It has been constantly except the last two garages had it off when I got the car back, but it came back on after driving a few miles.
I just picked up the car last night, light was off, started up today, light was on. They told me their computer told them to check the air intake filter. Mechanic said it wasn't in properly, thinks it might solve the problem. Told me to drive and car him today. Still doing it.
I don't, the garage isn't open until after 12 today
Can you call them when they open and get the code numbers and get back to me?

code was p0142 but he said there a ton of codes from the other garage.
I dont seem to have any record for a p0142.
Are you sure it is not a p0143 or a po141?

I am not sure, that is what I wrote down. He said something about a sensor, if that helps. It is a 4wd., not sure 5.7, 8 cyclinder though.

I would love to help you out. But without the code number, we are chasing our tail.
If you dont feel comfortable asking the mechanic what the code number was, you can go to a local auto parts store and they will scan it for free for you.
This would be a big help for me.
