Question

I have a 2002 Blazer, and last night I noticed that when backing up and turning the wheels sharply while in X XXXXX XXXXX, it was noisy and made a sort of loud clicking sound. What might be causing that? Only noticed it when backing up and turning the wheel sharply.

GM HAS UPDATED FLUID FOR TRANSFER CASE TO HELP WITH CHATTER FRON OUT OF TRANSFER CASE CLUTCHS YOUR SUPPOSE TO DRAIN OLD FUILD AND FILL WITH AUTO TRAC FLUID AND DRIVE SLOW IN CIRCLE 5 OR 6 TIMES BOTH WAYS AND DRAIN FLUID AND REFILL WITH THE AUTO TRAC AND WITH 500 MILES THE CHATTER SHOULD GO AWAY

Thanks - the noise almost sounded like there was something loose when I was backing up....... are there bearings, etc., that could be loose as well, as the noise seemed to continue while backing up straight too, until I stopped. How often should transfer case fluid be replaced? My Blazer has 66,000 miles on it - just got it last March - and I really didn't use the 4-wheel drive features much at all last winter. (sorry, I'm a female and I don't know much about this kind of stuff!) Thanks!
