Is the same eye that he had surgery on in August? Both times it was the right eye?
Do you know what technique they used on the first surgery? Did they put stitches in the third eyelid to hold it in?
That is very aggravating for all involved when the original problem recurs. The technique in which you attach the gland to the rim of the orbit is a good one and has a very low recurrence rate. Usually an expert would do this and it sounds like you are doing everything right. You just had a complication that happens sometimes.
I think that the procedure they are recommending sounds like the most reasonable procedure to try next and will give you your best chance of saving the gland and keeping things all tucked in as they should be.
