Hi,

Go to this site

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

then scroll down to line 128 and click on the link on the right named "Restore Desktop and Screensaver Tabs".

After downloading the file double click it to run the script.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

John D:Thanks for the reply, Script 128 ran successfully And reapplied my "Desktop Tab"That was missing HOWEVER, The "background" selection is visable but "gray" and un-clickable.The colors Selection does function. Sorry you are dealing with a 78 year old rank amateur and un-familiar with your suggested "safe mode". I also tried selecting a Ireland landscape and downloading to the desktop without results!!! John D.Well, it seems your suggestions are all workable but have failed to solve my problem. I was successfully following the SAFE MODE And ADMINISTRATION account check in which every thing worked perfectly including the background selection!! After re-booting and returning to my control panel it was still not allowing me to click on the background selection ,so, same ole story, the DESKTOP selection is still useless.Certainly there should be some simple way of rejuvinating these display properties!!!
