My 6 year old bengal has just been diagnosed with infective hepatitis and is at the vets being treated, I'm terribly worried about her but also concerned because we have a baby in the house is there any danger of transfer to humans?

One thing you do not have to be concerned about is that this is not transferable to humans. I hope that your girl fairs well with treatment. If this liver disease is the result of infection then with antibiotics and fluid therapy things should turn around for her well. If she isn't eating then you will need to be sure to force feed her several times a day. Many vets don't want them going home until they are eating on their own but for some people this isn't an option.
