I have just recently been diagnosed with Merca in my sinus's. I'm being treated by my ENT Dr. and with a special nose spray that the pharmacist had to make-up. My ? is should I be around peopl? My 87 yr old Mother (has her on md. problems) wants to help me and niece? Since I feel awful and I assume this is contagious and I just started on treatment wouldn't it be more sensable for them to wait

Hello,

MRSA can be effectively treated with appropriate antibiotics.

You can continue to take them and be around people, just make sure that you cover your nose and mouth while sneezing / coughing and avoid sharing towels and napkins with others.

If it is not very pressing, it would be advisable to avoid close contact with people, especially old people and children, those can have a reduced immunity to infections.
