Answer

The alarm does not have anything to do with the "immobilizer" system. They are separate systems and not connected. I would recommend checking your battery. Thanks, and please Accept if I have helped. Jacob.

battery is ok,already tried disconnecing and reconnecting battery,to try and reset immobiliser, but it wont let me start engine, does immobiliser need to be reset by bmw?

Answer

Sometimes your key can get out of alignment with your immobilizer, or EWS. This has to be re-aligned at the dealer. If you have another key try it. Also try moving the shifter into gear and back to park.

Accepted Answer

Sorry, boys on the net. No I meant that if you had an automatic transmission. Did you try another key? And turn the headlights on to see how bright they are. -Just to double check the battery.
