I need to re3place the gear select rod seal on a 94 900s.

nothing - the transmission fluid is leaking from that seal

do I pound out the seal and shaft that goes into the transmission (with the slidehammer? The shaft comes out,too?)? And, if so, when I reinstall it, will it slide back where it belongs. Also, can I get a slide hammer in there between the firewall and engine? , or do I have to remove the transmission. I was hoping it could be replaced w/out trans removal.
I need thorough, step by step, directions - can you help me with that?

Sorry.......that is by the book for Saab
You need to remove the shaft witha puller tool & then remove the seal with the slide hammer hook
