Question

i have a 2003 alero, i thought the starter maybe failing, starter engagement delayed fro a second when you turn the key. but now sometimes the automatic headlamps do not power on (works manually). the power windows stopped working and power was lost to the cigarette lighters a year ago. all fuses in all three locations look good. i was thinking ignition switch but wonder about any of the power relays.

Ok, delayed starter engagement, headlamps, power windows, etc are all symptoms of a faulty ignition switch. There have been lots of problems with this switch.

The cigarette lighter doesn't go through the ignition switch, so that's a different issue. The fuse for the cigar lighter is in the underhood fuse block . It's a 20 A fuse called AUX PWR/CIGAR.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know if you require more info.
