I have a 200 checy impala. Dealer states I need the following: Mass air flow sensor, air bag module, inner tie rod bushing and engine cradle has a crack. Questions are: 1. is the air bag module the entire airbag and why would I need a new one if the light is on in the car? 2. Crack in the engine cradle. cant that be welded? 3. Inner tie rod bushing, isnt that part of the tie rod and not a separate piece?

Welcome Zulu prime. 1The air bag module is the brain that senses and deploys the air bags, not the inflator modules. It gathers information about speed, rotation, seat belt temp and other data it needs as well as tests the circuits for the air bag components for faults. 2 It may be possible to weld the sub frame, but that depends on the nature of the crack and the material of the sub frame. I would discuss this with a qualified welder. 3 I have always replaced the inner tie rod as an assembly, and I was not aware of a separate bushing. The manual does not list a replacement procedure for a inner tie rod bushing, only the inner tie rod as a unit.
