Hi chapin, is the roof in the open or closed position?
Rex
Actually, that is good news. These often fail in the open position which requires a trip to the dealer so they can attempt to close it.
The minimum repair will be several hundred dollars and it can get much more expensive. At this point I would leave it alone and maybe put a piece of tape over the switch as a reminder. What you didn't ant to have happen is for it to actually work one time and then stay stuck in the open position.
Okay, what other questions do you have?
There is a set of guides and rails on each side of the glass that often fail. Also, the motor is prone to failure. In some cases you can replace just these parts, but it will be necessary to open the roof for inspection. Worst case scenario is the replacement of the entire module.
You can drop the switch and check for power. Connect a volt meter to the orange wire and a good ground, then turn the key to on. If you have power, let me know what the reading is.
The switch is in the headliner, just in front of the sunroof. It should pop out and you will see the wires. This is where you will test for power.
