Question

When I fill up my 99 Deville the guage reads full, whenI come to a stop the warning light comes on and it goes to empty, as soon as I drive again it goes back to full, as long as I am moving the guage will read correctly, but if I stop the guage goes to empty.. It only does this when it is full. any ideas?

Hi XXXXXXXX,
common problem cadillac, the float level sensor wears inside tank and when goes to full, sometimes goes pas full and resistor does not touch circuit boar in tank and does not register fuel level, thus going to empty, need to replace float level sensor if bothers you, right know if registers correctly would leave alone, must drop fuel tank to replace, expensive repair...
