Answer

Zone File:

zone file is a database element of the domain name system (DNS)
A zone file typically contains information that defines mappings between domain names and IP addresses

Registry :
A domain name registry, also called Network Information Centre (NIC), is part of the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet which converts domain names to IP addresses

Answer

Registry Should Be Modifeid As Follows
Registry :
A domain name registry, also called Network Information Centre (NIC), is part of the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet which converts domain names to IP addresses,It is an organisation that manages the registration of Domain names
e. g
http://www.nic.us/
www.nic.lk
Zone File
E.g
As It's a File It's Hard to Give Example

A simple example of a zone file:

$ORIGIN example.com. ; designates the start of this zone file in the name space
$TTL 1h ; The default expiration time of a resource record without its own TTL value
example.com. IN SOA ns.example.com. username.example.com (
XXXXXXXXXX ; serial number of this zone file
1d ; slave refresh (1 day)
1d ; slave retry time in case of a problem (1 day)
4w ; slave expiration time (4 weeks)
1h ; minimum caching time in case of failed lookups (1 hour)
)
example.com. NS ns ; ns.example.com is the nameserver for example.com
example.com. NS ns.somewhere.com. ; ns.somewhere.com is a backup nameserver for example.com
example.com. MX 10 mail.example.com. ; mail.example.com is the mailserver for example.com
example.com. A 10.0.0.1 ; ip address for "example.com"
ns A 10.0.0.2 ; ip address for "ns.example.com"
www CNAME ns ; "www.example.com" is an alias for "ns.example.com"
wwwtest CNAME www ; "wwwtest.example.com" is another alias for "www.example.com"
mail A 10.0.0.3 ; ip address for "mail.example.com", any MX record host must be
; an A or AAAA record, it should never be a CNAME record

WLS
A wait-listing service (WLS) provided by a domain name registry provides the ability to option a domain name that is already registered. The option-holder then has the ability to have first rights to that domain name if the current registrant should cancel their registration.

how can we make sure at what time exactly a domain would be avaliable ?
It' Depends On Registar with following
Num OF Days Of REGISTRAR-HOLD Status
When registrant Ask For Restore

1) how can i find a wait-listing service (WLS) ?

2) how can i find the exact time of a domain availabity ?

Posted by Hirash Riyal 393 days and 6 hours ago.

Answer

1) WLS Provided By Verisign ,so You Have To Contact Verisign
See Following Documents Also
http://www.loffs.com/images/VRSN_WLS.pdf
http://www.byte.org/rc-deletes/vgrs-wls-revised-012802.pdf

2)
If registrant Not Asking For Restore within REDEMPTIONPERIOD(usually 30 Days) + PENDINGDELETE period(usually 5 Days)+REGISTRAR-HOLD period( 35 Days)
So
usually 70 Days From Expiration Of Domain

hi

is there any way to undrestand the exact time of a domain which will become avaliable for registering

for example :

to find out anything.com will be avaliable at 2009/11/05 at 5:12 AM eastern time ...

Posted by Hirash Riyal 392 days and 11 hours ago.

Answer

Hi
Depends .
Say anything.com Expiers On 27/Oct/2008 ,So Registant Have 70 days To Ask For A Restore, if registrant Ask For Restore for anything.com It'l Be Not Available For Others Until It Expiers Again(and Registant not asking for a restore again). If Registant Fails To Ask A restore With In 70 Days , anything.com Available On approx. Jan-2008

i need the exact time

some guys who are expert in buying and selling domain can determine even the minutes of avaliabilty of a domain

Posted by Hirash Riyal 392 days and 9 hours ago.

Answer

Hi

Do That You Need To Find When The Domain Expiers
For That Go To WHOIS SERACH AND Enter A Domain Address(Say www.Google.com ) And Sreach ,From Results You Can Find The Expiring Date Of Google Is 2011-09-13,
And The Registar Is Markmonitor.com
REGISTRAR-HOLD Period Is 30-35 (There Is No Exact Value For This Depends On Registrars So We Get The Minimum )
Current REDEMPTION PERIOD Is 30 Days
Current PENDING DELETE Is 5 Days
So If Google Will Not Ask For Restoration for Domain www.Google.com
www.Google.com Available For Others 2011-09-13 + 65 Days= 2011-11-17

Accepted Answer

Hi
According To That Article ,

After The Expiration Date Domain Comes To A REGISTRAR-HOLD Period Which Is 40 Days ,
If Registant Not Ask For A Restore Then It Comes To REDEMPTION PERIOD Of 30 Days (Here Registant Can Ask For Restore with Additional Fees)
After That Domain comes to PENDING DELETE(deletion phase) That's 5 Days
and on the last day ( PENDING DELETE)between 11am and 2pm Pacific time,The name will officially drop from the ICANN database and will be available for registration by anybody.
The entire process ends exactly 75 days after the listed expiration date
So
With Our Example "Google"
www.Google.com Exactly Available On 2011-09-13 + 75 Days = 2011-11-27 (11am-2pm PST)
