hello there
Does the overload light come one with nothing plugged in? and what is the watage or amperage load of the fan that you are running?
and are you using an extension cord?
Matt
I believe the amperage of the fan is around 6amps because the cord on the fan says 6 amp. The fan itself has a label which says 115 volts, 60 HZ. The generator has always powered this fan and we never had a problem. To answer your question, I plugged the fan directly into the generator and the overload light went on. The light did not go on when the fan wasn't plugged in. Something has changed with the generator. Its about 2 years old. I changed the spark plug today and looked at the filter which seemed clean.
Should I just bring it in to be serviced?
Thanks.
Jeff
Thanks
Try to plug in a device with the same load, like a 500 watt work light, a 6A or higher grinder or drill, If the overload light still comes on, get the unit serviced
If the light stays off, the fan is defect, did it get wet?
I hope this helps

The fan in the airdancer may have gotten wet, if so what does this mean?, the unit is drawing too much amperage? I will try the generator with something of greater or equal amperage.
yes, if the fan got wet or has worn bearings, it can draw more amps and couse an overload
Thanks for using JA, and let me know what you find
