what is the size of this ball and how does it look like...and for how long do you have it.. any fever or chills.. did you see a doctor so far.

its like a small peice of gristle about 1cm all the way round.i dont have any shakes or chills and its been there for about 2years but has never bothered me untill a couple of days ago when it started to puss.Its not sore though

it seems that you have sebaceous cyst which are usually harmless but if they rupture or become infected then surgery is done. please see you doc.
