Question
...my elderly aunt has a 9 1/2 y. o. maltese that she is convinced is dying, all of a sudden. The doggie has had diabetes for 3 years, and is very slightly obese. Her symtoms includes a skin discoloration across her back, since July, that sometimes breaks into an occasional sore." My aunt is convinced this was the start of the downward spiral in health. I knew she was losing her hearing, but now my aunt says she is " almost blind and can't find her ball when tossed." Her eating habits are ok, along with going outside to relieve herself. She is groomed every week, and sees local vet regularly. When I'm over there, she comes running up, and and seems happy to see me. I just think shes aging, and suggested we engage her into more activity than just lying around so much. ( she's upset with the vet for not treating rash/dark pigmentation, and thinks that has everything to do with what is going on.
